I spent a small portion of this evening baking a cake.  It won’t be finished until tomorrow because I have to leave it in the fridge overnight then make the chocolate gnache to finish it off.  This cake is like none I’ve ever made.  It doesn’t have flour!  So it’s really thin… I mean REALLY thin.  There are going to be three layers but they won’t stack up nice and tall like most cakes.  Either way, this thing should be delicious.  I’ll post the after pictures tomorrow.  Until then, here are the before.

Oh, and by the way, my house smells chocolaty good.

     Liz, I thought about that actually… but alas, I’m making some chocolate chip cookies to bring tonight. I just can’t break tradition. And this cake might not actually turn out deliciously… then again, it probably will.
