The project I’ve been hired for, capturing images of the Milton/Blied family has continued. So far I have four of the seven children. Here are the three sisters along with the two eldest husbands. I do believe the series will look very nice in their parents hallway.

The Carey family portraits | Hume Lake, CAAugust 24th, 2009Such a lovely family. Such a lovely family. They met at Hume and would never have thought that one day, what was it, 9 or 10 years down the line, that they would end up falling in love! Now here they are with two little ones and loving everyday that the Lord blesses them with. There really is so much joy in this family. I was so pleased to be able to take their family pictures and capture some candids of their babes.

The Geer family portraits | Hume Lake, CAAugust 24th, 2009Years ago Derek and Amy met at Hume Lake Christian Camps. Over the years they’ve both worked at Hume, left Hume, and returned to Hume. Years ago Derek and Amy met at Hume Lake Christian Camps. Over the years they’ve both worked at Hume, left Hume, and returned to Hume. If memory serves me correctly, they got married in the Fall of 2003. Their son came along just two years ago and he’s been a ball of energy since day one. They are absolutely wonderful and I was so happy to be able to take their pictures for them.
A nice woman came over to help us get some pictures with Hudson looking at the camera and smiling. I didn’t see this, but she put her Chihuahua over my head and made it dance. Glad I didn’t look up! But, we got some great pictures and the dancing dog worked! Hudson sat still and all three of them laughed and enjoyed the show for a minute.
Derek and Amy are pretty wonderful… so is Hudson. Enjoy…

As some of you may not, and others of you might not, I just don’t like dogs. In fact, the idea of ever owning a dog is completely foreign to me. I’m not sure where my dislike for dogs came from. My mom loves dogs, we had dogs growing up, I even loved my dog who I named Friskie… but at some point along the way (maybe it was when I was five and my grandparents German Shepherd bit the skin of Marisol’s forehead off) I stopped thinking they were cute.
I don’t like their smell, the wet nose, the licking, the shedding, the hair, when they shake after they got wet… oh the list can go on and on!
BUT, I got to shoot my friends dog for them on Saturday. And surprise, surprise. I liked the dog. She didn’t lick me, she didn’t nudge me with her nose, she didn’t smell, she didn’t shed because she had hair, and she didn’t bark or lick herself inappropriately. She was rather cute and I even pet her. So maybe it was a breakthrough but the next dog can send me back to my normal self.
Anyhow, meet Annie. She’s cute.
