I absolutely love Instagram. In fact, I love it more than Facebook. Instagram is the thing I check in the morning. Seeing the moments my friends share bring me joy. Countless time I laugh when I see a certain image paired with its caption. And, on the other hand, there have been some tender, knot in my throat, tear in my eye moments that have been shared over Instagram. It’s an absolutely wonderful little app to me.

Come to think of it, through Instagram I asked my dear friends (who live in far off lands) to be my bridesmaids. It’s simply wonderful. Oh, and those girls accepted… more on the wedding stuff soon… I promise!

It’s just an introduction.   Percy is driving by the way.  I will never take a video while driving.  Sometimes I’m a stickler for the rules.

So, on that sweet evening in October Devon put on her wedding dress that didn’t resemble your typical bride, instead it embodied and showcased Devon’s personality and style. Joel waited until Devon was escorted down the aisle to see his bride. He was not disappointed!

Joel’s dad officiated the ceremony. For lack of better words, it was perfect. The best part, for me, was when Fred challenged Joel to wake up every morning before Devon and make her a cup of coffee. Fred has been doing that for his bride ever since the day they got married. That small gesture, the little bit of service done out of love really got to me. What a sweet thing to do for your love one! I had tears in my eyes and a huge smile plastered across my face. Not only did I love what Fred said but I think Joel & Devon are amazing and I was so excited to see them get married!

There really is so much more to share so I’ll try to quickly sum up some of the highlights… After the ceremony the guests mingled at a cocktail party while the wedding party headed out in a limo to take their pictures. Once we got back all the guests were escorted to the tables which were set up like a horseshoe and the food, catered by family friends, began to come out. Four courses were served and every bit of it was delicious! During the French Bistro style reception an accordionist played, guests chatted, and laughter filled the air. After the dinner ended people mingled a little more and helped themselves to delicious desserts provided by The Doted Apron. First dances were danced, toasts were given, and hugs were exchanged wrapping up a sweet, intimate night where friends and family gathered together to celebrate J&D Brown.
