I have been waiting to shoot this wedding for over a year and finally, this past weekend Jake & Lauren tied the knot at River Ridge Ranch! This girl always made it seem like she wasn’t creative and was nervous about how it would all come together. Oh. my. word. their wedding was awesome! From the Save The Dates to the smore’s everything was perfect. It was hard to choose the sneak peek for this wedding so I threw in a few more, still a handful though. Enjoy!
Jake & Lauren, many blessings to you and I’m so thankful I can call you my friends. I loved working with you and hope to hangout again someday soon! Happy Honeymooning in Hawaii.

Tim & Aykui | Destination Wedding | Monterey, CASeptember 1st, 2011Tim & Aykui met on eHarmony a few years back. Because I met my boyfriend via eHarmony, Aykui (pronounced Hi Queen without the ‘n’ at the end) and I immediately had things to talk about. She is level headed, cute as can be, sincere, smart, and has the biggest, most genuine smile I’ve ever seen. [...] |
Tim & Aykui met on eHarmony a few years back. Because I met my boyfriend via eHarmony, Aykui (pronounced Hi Queen without the ‘n’ at the end) and I immediately had things to talk about. She is level headed, cute as can be, sincere, smart, and has the biggest, most genuine smile I’ve ever seen. I truly have enjoyed building out friendship before her wedding.
I digress, this post is supposed to be about them two and I’ve turned it into a post about my friendship wit the bride! Oopsie. Back on track now…
This couple planned their Monterey wedding all the way in Texas. How they pulled something so beautiful off with such lovely details I’ll never know! I’m so glad I get to show off their wedding now.

I really loved the sign that Aykui had made. It’s beautiful and I’m sure is now a piece of art in their home!

Isn’t her dress lovely?! And her shoes were perfect. She did have two sets of shoes, one for the ceremony and one for the reception.

I really did love the rings. And doesn’t Aykui look phenomenal in her dress?!

Breathtaking church right? It’s elegant, warm, and has an old charm to it.

I loved their little wooden table markers that said Mr. and Mrs. on it. You’ll see them again with the gorgeous yellow flower centerpieces during the reception.

The flowers were beautiful! I really do love the yellow.

That mirror in the Bridal Room at the Perry House is one of the most lovely things I’ve seen. The whole suite up there is really remarkable.

Those bottle openers were awesome. If you can’t read it the tag says, “We Tied the Knot.”

Did you see the Mr. & Mrs. wooden table markers? So sweet!

The candy spread was so sweet, pun intended. It was bright, cheerful, and most importantly delicious.

I have to mention that the Perry House staff was one of the absolute best staffs I’ve had the opportunity to work with. It’s a gorgeous venue (newly renovated), delicious food, and filled with kind, easy going people. I highly recommend this place! Highly, HIGHLY recommend.

That cake was beautiful… and so tasty.

I love this series of first dance pictures. Tim & Aykui are so in love and perfect together. You can see it on their faces.

DNA Entertainment really rocked the house! The whole evening was a blast and everyone was on the dance floor gettin’ down. It was so much fun.
Tim & Aykui, you two are wonderful! Thank you for letting me photograph your wedding and for making all of the right choices for your wedding day to pull off such an amazing event! Many blessings to you both.
If you’d like to see more images from this wedding or order any prints you can do that at their online Wedding Gallery.

Location, location, location… that is what they always say in regards to real estate. To me, this is prime real estate… especially for pictures! I loved shooting at this ranch. Off hand I don’t recall which Grandfather built these buildings but he did build them and they are all still in use. It’s a photographers dream. Beautiful sky, amazing old buildings, rolling green fields, cow patties, barn owls, and no rattlesnakes! Not to mention a great family. They were a lot of fun. I haven’t seen the boys for over 10 years so I was totally surprised to see them all grown up. Mark & Debbie, you two look fantastic! Happy 30th Anniversary and Happy 29th Birthday to you Debbie.
I truly enjoyed shooting your portraits and I’m thrilled with how they turned out!

Chris & Becky, you guys might be one of my very favorite set of parents I know. Not that I know how you parent, it’s just that I think you both are that great. Noah is blessed to have such God fearing, loving, funny, goofy, and good looking parents. I guess he’s got good genes. I think he’s going to be as fun as you both because, from what I witnessed, he is full of smiles, giggles, silly faces, and he’s bathed in love. I love you all and I’m so thankful I get to spend those few hours with you in Frazier Park, CA before you headed back to Jackson Hole, WY. You’re the best in the west and I can’t wait to see you all again!!!

Grandpa Conrad | Reedley, CAApril 29th, 2011On Easter Sunday, April 20, 2011, I asked my Grandfather if I could have him come outside so I can take his picture. He obliged to my little request. There are so many elements of this image that I love. I love the garage/shop he sits in front of. It just screams Grandpa Conrad. And I love his cane that he’s been carrying around over the past few years. Another element that I love, Shadow. Shadow is Grandpa’s good ol’ dog who went ahead and crawled under grandpa’s legs so that he could get petted better by my grandfathers strong, large hands.
I love my Grandfather. I love the man he is, the work he’s accomplished in his life, and the stories that I get to hear about his life. He is a wealth of wisdom and a man who loves and fears the Lord.
Grandpa, I love you dearly. Thank you for always be an example of someone who doesn’t speak poorly about anyone, who works hard and diligently, and for showing me what a Godly Patriarch looks like.

Recently I headed up to Merced, CA to photograph this fun little engagement session. Josh & Danielle wanted to start out at their home and she made some delicious cupcakes as props for the shoot (of course we got to taste one after and, my word, it was good!). Danielle has been baking all sorts of different flavored cupcakes to sample the flavors for her wedding day. Her soon to be brother-in-law is going to be making them! Totally looking forward to that delicious element of their wedding day.
Anyhow, we began at their home and ended in downtown Merced. I am so happy with all of the urban shots. They are just so lovely.
Enjoy…
