It was so good to see her, meet her husband, and catch up a little bit about the past 16 years. (That can’t be right… 16 years? Tell me I’m wrong someone from RHS ’96!)

Anyhow, it was wonderful taking these photos real quickly just before we enjoyed a traditional Chinese meal with Tina and her extended family!

Enjoy my friends, I’m so glad we got to see one another and catch up a little! Congratulations and my your marriage be full of adventures and nonstop love.

Sami & Erika, surrounded by their family and closest friends, tied the knot last fall in Fresno, CA. For me, this wedding was different. The bride, more than anything else, wanted pictures of the people, of her and her husbands loved ones. So instead of focusing on the details we focused on what she wanted, her family and friends. It was an amazing celebration full of tradition, dancing, and delicious food! There were so many cultural traditions woven into the festivities that we were always on our toes and awed by the things happening around us.

Congratulations Sami & Erika! May your marriage be filled with joy and may your family grow in abundance. :)

Stephen & Erin are scientists. Super smart people and super fantastic as well! They tied the knot at Hotel Vital in San Francisco on the roof. It was remarkable, and what made it totally memorable for me was the fact that there were protestors camping out in the field next to the hotel. For whatever reason, during their ceremony all was silent. It was perfect.

I love being able to work with an amazing team of vendors and s&e really pulled a great one together. The girls of Enjoy Events Co. are ALWAYS fantastic and step up their game each time they design something new. I was amazed at all of the lovely details and how perfectly the modern style came together! The flowers were created by Laura Miller Design, one of my all time favorite florists! She’s phenomenal. DJ Dukes rocked the house and stood in front of a vinyl backdrop which was perfectly suited for the couple. All of it was amazing. Take a look for yourself!

Congratulations Stephen & Erin! May your lives be one of joy, adventure, laughter, and smiles!

Trenton and Jenna tied the knot last fall at the church which Jenna’s father Pastors, New Harvest in Clovis, CA. They did a complete makeover of the sanctuary creating this long, dramatic hall where giant images of the couple hung. It was lined with white couches, gorgeous lamps, a deep red carpet, and beautiful chandeliers hung down the center. With the color palette of red, black, and white everything was dramatic and eye catching. After the intimate ceremony where Jenna’s father gave her away and then had the opportunity to conduct the ceremony everyone headed off to The Grand in downtown Fresno. The ballroom was packed. You see, Jenna and Trenton are really great and people LOVE them so it wasn’t a shock to me to see pretty much every seat taken. The joy and excitement in the rooms was palpable; everyone danced, laughed, and chatted the night away. It was absolutely fantastic!

Congratulations Trenton & Jenna! May your life together be filled with love, laughs, and joy (and kids too?!). Blessings to you my friends.

Jessica and Lou are this great couple who have such magnetizing personalities that their friends follow them wherever they move.  Seriously, they do.  After high school everyone headed to San Luis Obispo to attend college, then from there Lou decided to move to Arizona (I don’t remember why but it was for some good reason) and of course everyone followed.  Now a large portion of the wedding party live out in Arizona and just love life and love being together.  All of that to say, we had a fabulous time shooting their wedding!  Jessica did an amazing job planning from afar.  It all came together perfectly and was just so beautiful!

I loved the sweet invitations, the venue, the dresses, the suits, the style of the reception, the giant oak that they were married under, and so much more!  I highlighted some of my favorite things in between some pics so I don’t want to repeat myself a lot.  But check out what cool things can be done when you’re planning a wedding in one state and getting married in another.  Jessica should be an inspiration for many of you ladies planning your wedding!  Enjoy!

The ladies carried bouquets of hydrangeas.  They were beautiful and delicate.  So soft and perfect.

The bridesmaids dressed in mismatched navy blue dresses while the groomsmen wore sleek gray pants, white button down shirt, with a thin black tie… they looked so classy.  But the two that stole the show, well, it should be obvious, were the bride and groom.  Jessica’s dress was gorgeous and fit her perfectly while Lou look stellar in his gray suit.

Lou and Jess married under a large oak tree in Lodi, CA on a beautiful fall day in October. Their initials were engraved inside a heart hanging on the tree with strands of bling hanging down from the giant limbs.

During the cocktail hour the guests enjoyed a signature drink of sweet tea which was served in the mason jars and there were paper straws available to sip ‘em down with while they played lawn games like bocci ball and bean bag toss.

This group of people were a lot of fun to work with.  I love when people know each other and they are able to laugh and have a good time.  It makes the portrait part of a wedding day that much better!  Everyone was seriously so great.

Oak Farm Vineyard is nestled in the countryside of Lodi, CA.  It’s stunning.  From the lawn where the l&j got married to the white barn out in front where we took some of the pictures, it was all well manicured and absolutely lovely.  I can’t wait to go back and shoot more weddings here!

Jessica has great style… I saw this right when I arrived at the venue and saw the tables being set.  I loved, loved, loved the lace details, the gray, yellow, and navy blue decor, and the paper lanterns hanging above the sweetheart table.  It was classy, modern, sophisticated and chic.  Plus they had fun elements like the  crossword puzzle about the bride and groom and on each table were mustaches, lips, glasses, and bow ties on sticks.  So great.

Jessica & Lou’s family and friends all brought desserts to fill this super long table.  Every little morsel that I was able to sample was delicious and I was bummed to not be able to taste everything!  It was amazing and their table banner is so true… Love IS sweet!

Doily popcorn cups!?!  Darling!  Well done Jess, well done.

The whole day was a ton of fun and as you can see it was absolutely beautiful.  Congratulations l&j!  May you continue to grow more in love day in and day out.

Steve & Erin married in October 2011 at the Piccadilly Inn Airport in Fresno. From the day I met her, Erin called herself Bridezilla. And I have to be honest… she lies! Erin knows what she wants, how she wants it, and she will put her foot down but underneath the tough facade, she’s funny, kind, easy going, and full of joy. I was nervous about the Bridezilla schpell but I saw through it.

Erin’s dress was phenomenal. In fact, my sister & second shooter keeps talking about it. It was different and memorable. Absolutely stunning! This fantastic dress with Erin’s bangs and feather hair piece really made her the queen of the show. She looked absolutely amazing and I know Steve was over the moon excited to marry her!

I thoroughly enjoyed the guys clothing just as much as the girls. They looked so dapper and charming. The burnt orange ties with the white vests were perfect. They looked fantastic! Plus, they wore boutonnieres designed by Simply Flowers that was the icing no the cake.

The whole day was a lot of fun. This crew loves to relax, dance, and party. That makes for a rockin’ dance floor… and it was!

Steve & Erin, enjoy your new home in the freezing mid-west! Congratulations and may your life be full of joy and laughter.

I scored big time when I got hired to shoot Ben & Teresa’s wedding in Hopland, CA. Teresa is a designer and encouraged by Ben to pursue her career as her own boss. Her style and design elements were all over the wedding! It was phenomenal.

The Vera Wang dress that she sported was stunning. I’ve never seen a dress like it before. The skirt was so full and fluffy contrasted by the smooth, sleek bodice; it was a masterpiece.

For months Teresa and Ben grew succulents in their San Francisco apartment which adorned the rustic tabletops and were used in the handmade boutonnieres and bouquets.

Personal elements sprang up everywhere. With five long tables the couple used five different numbers that represented moments in their life together. From the amount of days on their honeymoon to an infinity sign representing the amount of love at the party. (And there truly was that much love there… I overheard a bridesmaid tell Teresa that… and it was so true.)

B&T had hankies for their guests to catch their tears while sitting under a giant oak watching the two exchange their vows, there were blankets to snuggle under as the night came upon the party to ward off the chill in the air, and there were precious toys for the children to keep and play with at their table setting.

Every element was sheer delight to see and photograph. Oh! How could I not mention this?! Campovida is a sustainable farm filled with gorgeous foliage, fruits and veggies. The couple gave honey and vanilla made on the farm as their gifts and they made sure to hire local vendors to support their states economy and keep their wedding green (and wonderful).

Congratulations b&t! Your wedding was a pure delight to photograph and I loved the mustard yellow mismatched bridesmaid dresses align with the guys grey suits. (I had to mention those!)

James and Nicole met at a friends wedding and they knew, pretty darn quickly, that it was meant to be.  During their long distance relationship (close to four hours in a car separated them) they fell in love and decided to plan a life together… but first, the wedding!  Nicole has always loved weddings.  If she had the opportunity to plan about five different styled weddings for herself she’d be able to.  Needless to say, it was a challenge to pick her favorite theme and grow it from there.  Alas, she decided on a rustic yellow and gray wedding.  It was mere perfection.

Held at Hobbs Grove in the country of Sanger, CA (um, if you haven’t been there, you must go!) J&N tied the knot surrounded by their friends and family.  From the guys socks and the girl mismatched yellow shoes to the sign in bench and yellow ampersand sign, I couldn’t get enough!  It was one of those days that I wished I looked good in yellow because it looked so beautiful!  The color popped against the soft grays and the worn wood.  So lovely… so very lovely.

Another little detail that is worth sharing (and enjoying!) was their little favors…. homemade limoncello.  I believe it’s a recipe from James’ family and a small jar sat at each place setting with a label of thanks to each loved on there.  Delicious and delightful!

James and Nicole, you two are phenomenal and I am so thankful to have been asked to capture such a beautiful day, couple, group, and details.  My heart is full and I know yours is overflowing!  Many blessings to you my friends!  You two make me smile.

Having a destination wedding in Sonoma, CA was a brilliant move for Mark & Calandra!  They chose to have their wedding on a Thursday at the oldest winery in California.  Friends jumped in to help and together they threw an amazing, intimate, fun wedding!

A little history for you, Mark & Calandra enjoyed their first date at a food truck a while back.  Because of this they hired Marks the Spot food truck to cater and it was absolutely amazing.  Marks the Spot served sliders with three different sides and everyone got to go up to the window and order what they wanted.  It truly gave the best ambiance I may have ever seen at a wedding reception.  Everyone was mingling, waiting in the short line for the fresh food, and what was even better was that it was delicious!  Seriously delicious.  No joke.  Delicious.

Another favorite part of the wedding was the decor.  The tables were perfection.  Grass, moss, shells, mirrors, and glass filled the center of the tables which were sandwiched between two gorgeous historic buildings on a little hillside.  Phenomenal!  I still can’t get enough of looking at the pictures and remembering it.

And my last favorite thing.  Cheesy, I know.  But it’s Mark & Calandra.  They. are. so. much. fun.  I have thoroughly enjoyed working with them, hearing crazy stories, and watching them together.  Mark loves the camera and will go on for hours posing if we let him.  Mark & Calandra, thank you for everything!  I LOVED shooting your wedding and I’m thrilled to be able to share it with everyone who bothers to read my blog!  Many blessings to you both.  Enjoy…

This couple met in High School.  In fact, he was so smitten by her that he had to follow her to college at Cal Poly!  It was there that they got engaged and started to plan their dream wedding.  Robby & Becca chose Wolf Lakes as their venue because it holds some sweet memories for them.  They attended their Senior Prom there a few years back and now the memories just get sweeter after exchanging their vows and celebrating the beginning of their happily ever after!

My sister is my second shooter, a little known fact for some of you, and we had a blast with this wedding party!  Everyone was so fun and relaxed, goofy and sweet, it just made the day wonderful.  I loved the vibrant colors of the girls dresses, Becca’s GORGEOUS gown (you have to just stop and admire it a moment it’s so lovely), and the energy that the bridal party brought.  It was a perfect day, kinda humid but that doesn’t really matter because it was filled with love and laughter, two of my favorite things.

Robby and Becca you two are great, so ridiculous great!  Thank you for having me capture you, your friends, your family, and your details.  Angie and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  Many blessings to you both and may today be the day that you love each other the least.

Grecia loves vibrant, bold colors and her wedding was nothing short of vibrant and bold. The purple dresses worn by the bridesmaids were darling and the colors in the bouquets and boutonnieres were just popping everywhere! Especially off of the sleek white tux that Tyler wore and the gorgeous gown that Grecia donned.

The whole day was full of love and smiles. Everyone who attended were thrilled for this couple to be wed and I can say one of my favorite things that happened actually happened after the wedding date via Facebook. I have loved reading about the special things that Tyler does for his beloved wife Grecia from making her lunch and leaving her notes to going on runs together.
