I must admit, I was pretty excited to start January off with a Wedding Blog featuring such a fun, unique wedding that I got to photograph! On January 3 Bow Ties & Bliss published Brynnen & Lian’s wedding and gave them a little love. It was just so fitting having this blog feature the Stutsman wedding because both bow ties and bliss were involved on that amazing day!

It was only five or six months ago that I looked at my work and thought that I should brave the “no’s” and submit my work to be published on some wedding blogs. Thrilling is the only word I can use to describe the way I felt when I heard that The Wedding Chicks wanted to feature one of my Chicago weddings! Very soon after that, I mean pretty much the next day, Wedding Wire contacted ME and asked to feature my other Chicago wedding. I was blown away. Now, a mere few months later, I am excited to have shared different weddings with different blogs. Here is a list (and links) to some incredible wedding blogs and the features of my work. Susan and Kevin are awesome… if you don’t know then Susan is the kindest, most loving, non-judgmental girl in the whole entire world. And Kevin is hilarious. He loves the Lord, serves wholeheartedly, and laughs constantly. If I could describe the two in one word it would be joyful.
Their wedding has been nominated for a Local Love Award on the Style Unveiled website which is thrilling for me! Voting goes until the 31st of December and for awhile there we were totally in the lead. Then, all of a sudden, another couple came from absolutely nowhere and has pretty much blindsided us. But, you know what, there’s still a chance! And really, if we don’t win, that’s totally okay. I’m not saying that I don’t want to win, just sayin’ it’s not gonna be the death of me.
If you want to cast your vote nobody will stop you! You can vote only once and as I mentioned earlier, voting ends on the 31st of December.

This week seems fairly unreal. Yesterday was a huge feature on Grey Likes Weddings and today two other blogs are featuring my work! Seriously? Pinch me if I’m dreaming.
Forget Me Knot Weddings featured one of the most recent weddings I photographed. Lian & Brynnen were amazing and I’m excited to have their incredible wedding shown off to the world!
Budget Savvy Bride featured Kevin & Susan Fiske’s wedding! Seriously, Kevin & Susan are my most published couple. Here Susan shares her budget and how they made their gorgeous wedding take place for $7000. So worth the read.

Today is a pretty amazing day. It’s one of those days where hard work pays off. A wedding I shot recently, Ryan & Tricia Iest (you know, the one where they’re in the cornfield), is featured on Grey Likes Weddings!
Why is this a big deal you ask? Well, I for one feel that this blog, Grey Likes Weddings, is a rather sophisticated, chic blog which posts ONLY beautiful things. Trust me, I was completely humbled (and flabbergasted) to learn that the Iest wedding made it as a feature! It really is an honor and SO exciting.
This past year my world has changed dramatically! A year ago I was scared to even submit a wedding… I just didn’t think I was there yet. My insecurities ruled the roost. Now, sure I have insecurities here and there (who doesn’t?) but my mindset and attitude have completely changed.
I’m amazed at what the Lord has done over this past year and I can’t wait to see what He’s going to do during this next year. I’m already so excited for the weddings that I have booked and I’m looking forward to the ones that are to come.

This past June I had the opportunity to shoot two weddings in Chicago. They were both incredible! Today, one of those weddings has been fully featured on Style Unveiled! Kevin and Susan got to fully be apart of this article and they wrote straight from their hearts. What an incredible couple. I am so thankful to know them, to have spent their wedding day with them, and to continue a friendship with them. I am blessed.
