Saturday afternoon was spent with this amazing couple!  I am so happy to be able to photograph Daniel & Savannah’s wedding this June.  I can’t even begin to explain it.  What’s so awesome about them is that I warned them that at the beginning of having their pictures taken it always feels awkward.  If you’ve had your pictures taken you know what I mean… it’s just so strange to cuddle with your love while someone walks around you snapping away!  The amazing thing is that right when we started shooting, they just feel into one another and they were so natural.  It was a dream.  She glows around him, he glows around her… it’s a perfect match.

Elliott & Jennifer’s engagement & family photos | Bravo Farms | Traver, CA

Today they get married… Elliott & Jennifer’s wedding, I’m certain, will be fantastic! Jennifer has excellent taste, first off because she’s getting married in her parents yard, secondly she selected Bravo Farms to have their engagement/family photos taken, and thirdly she picked Elliott. They are a perfect fit. Wasn’t it on Sleepless in Seattle where MFEO was introduced to us by the little girl? Well, that’s what I think of concerning E&J, they’re MFEO (made for each other).

We were all nervous because of the heat… the valley has been sizzling since this past weekend. But on Monday evening, the sun backed off a tad, the wind picked up, and the warmth of the evening bathed this couple in gorgeous light! Percy and I had such a great time with Chad & Cori and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in September! Michael and Mallory are fantastic. It’s always very clear when you and your clients are a good fit. Right when I walked in the family home all was well. Conversation came easily, laughter filled the morning air, and we were able to get to know one another while capturing some engagement pictures around the family homestead. It was great. Exactly ten days from now I will get to stand beside my goofy, tender hearted guy and tell him that I am his forever. I get to share my heart with him in front of a small group of close family and friends. And I get to experience my own big day, my own stressing over the details, my own uncontrolled emotions. I can’t wait. Not that I’m ready with the planning parts, but I am ready to spend my life with Percy L. Lacey Jr. Lord knows it’s going to be an interesting life!

The brilliant Jennifer & Kenneth of Ever Whim Photographs will be capturing our wedding day. I’m so excited to be able to share what we’ve put together! It’s definitely not the wedding I had envisioned but usually everything I create isn’t what I had in mind for myself. I tend to imagine things really soft, pretty, flowey, and free but when I create things become structured, bright, colorful, happy, and fresh. I guess that’s what my wedding will be. And again, I. Can’t. Wait!

Because of my upcoming nuptials and honeymoon I am closing shop for the remainder of the month.  I just can’t focus on your wedding and mine at all one time no matter how much I want to or how hard I try.  And, in April I have all of the time in the world to get back to the daily grind.  But for now my site is set on March 23rd.  Oh gosh, I hope it doesn’t rain!

Here’s a few of my favorite images taken by Ever Whim when we headed to Carmel for a short visit. Percy and I love the pictures so much and we can’t wait to blow some of these up for our home (that I get to move into after our honeymoon!!!!!).

Chris and Natasa were a lot of fun to photograph all throughout San Francisco! They have this lovely apartment that we met at then we jumped in their car and took off for a couple of hours of shooting. Percy and I got to see some new places that we had never been to in San Fran including the historical dutch windmills in Golden Gate Park. They are so beautiful! Chris and Natasa looked amazing standing in front of that giant, old windmill. Not to say they didn’t look amazing everywhere else, because, truth be told, they did. My favorite part of the day was trying to find the natural smile that Chris has. We were able to capture it and it was then that I knew we were golden.

I am excited to shoot your wedding this fall! No matter how overwhelming the planning process may be, I know it’s going to turn out beautifully. That’s clear to me because you both have such good taste (I mean, look at your apartment!). :)

What does one do when they want pictures taken but don’t want to bother others at the last minute? Set up a tripod with a timer and take pictures every two seconds. We laughed a lot, felt really dumb sometimes, and were able to get a few pictures that we both liked. These aren’t our official engagement pictures although we don’t know if we will end up taking official engagement pictures! Any photographers want to practice taking pictures of a black and white chubby couple? There’s lots to learn and we’re pretty willing to laugh at ourselves.
