Brynnen & Lian’s Wedding | Tujunga, CA

For every wedding I shoot I send out some fun little questionnaires to get to know my clients (and their weddings) just a bit better.  I have to share some of Brynnen & Lian’s answers because you will be able to have a glimpse into the personalities of this wonderful couple.  Alright, one of the questions I ask is for each person to describe their fiances personality in three words.  Here are their responses (unedited):

Lian says:

Lian- To the point, Fun, Laid back
Brynnen- NICE, Caring, silly

Brynnen says:

Lian: caring, silly and fierce (as in your dancing)
Brynnen: adventurous, easy-going, corky (but i think he meant quirky)

I guess if I had to sit here long enough and be forced to describe their wedding it would be exactly as they described themselves.  It was fun, laid back, nice caring, silly, to the point (makes sense right, they did get married), fierce, adventurous, easy-going, and corky… errr… quirky.  In all honesty, their wedding was awesome.  From the moment that my sister (who is my second shooter) and I arrived on scene there were family and friends everywhere helping to set up, bringing the fresh baked desserts for the dessert table, making sure that Lian and Brynnen never bumped into one another before the ceremony, and did a host of other behind the scenes things.  It was obvious that their wedding day was filled with love and celebrated in the same manner.

This was a brilliant wedding on a small budget.  I LOVED the “Stutsman” letters hanging on the metal shed in the backyard.  I loved the fabric, handmade hearts hanging in some of the trees and bushes.  I loved how everything took place in a small backyard and all of the guests helped to transform the ceremony site into the reception site.  I loved the bouquets that Lian made with cabbage and flowers.  I loved the boutonnieres that the bride and groom made for the groomsmen, carefully selecting the color of the bird to match the personality of the guys.  I loved the bride’s head piece that she found in her grandmothers chest… the same one her grandmother wore when she was married so many years ago.  I love that the tree in the backyard was the focal point for the whole wedding… from the invitations to Lian’s Dad’s talk during the ceremony.  I loved that they served pizza and salad at their reception!  I loved the white wedding cake with the hidden turquoise and purple cake center that was lovingly made by the brides cousin.  Seriously, I can go on and on.

But let’s be honest, more than anything I love Brynnen and Lian.  I loved when I heard that they were dating.  I was heart broken when I learned they broke up for a short time.  When I got the news they were back together again my heart leaped with joy.  See, they just make sense together.  Their quirky personalities, their laughter and joy are only magnified when in each others company.

I am so thankful to know them and to have had this amazing opportunity to capture their love, their uniqueness, and their amazing families.  Congratulations Brynnen and Lian!  I know I’ve missed SO many details about your wedding in this blog post so if you want to share anything with me and the readers, please do. :)

Enjoy…

  15. The only thing that would have made these photos better is if I were in them. Not because I look so good (although, if I’m honest…I look pretty good), but because I wish I’d been there.
