For every wedding I shoot I send out some fun little questionnaires to get to know my clients (and their weddings) just a bit better.  I have to share some of Brynnen & Lian’s answers because you will be able to have a glimpse into the personalities of this wonderful couple.  Alright, one of the questions I ask is for each person to describe their fiances personality in three words.  Here are their responses (unedited):

Lian says:

Lian- To the point, Fun, Laid back
Brynnen- NICE, Caring, silly

Brynnen says:

Lian: caring, silly and fierce (as in your dancing)
Brynnen: adventurous, easy-going, corky (but i think he meant quirky)

I guess if I had to sit here long enough and be forced to describe their wedding it would be exactly as they described themselves.  It was fun, laid back, nice caring, silly, to the point (makes sense right, they did get married), fierce, adventurous, easy-going, and corky… errr… quirky.  In all honesty, their wedding was awesome.  From the moment that my sister (who is my second shooter) and I arrived on scene there were family and friends everywhere helping to set up, bringing the fresh baked desserts for the dessert table, making sure that Lian and Brynnen never bumped into one another before the ceremony, and did a host of other behind the scenes things.  It was obvious that their wedding day was filled with love and celebrated in the same manner.

This was a brilliant wedding on a small budget.  I LOVED the “Stutsman” letters hanging on the metal shed in the backyard.  I loved the fabric, handmade hearts hanging in some of the trees and bushes.  I loved how everything took place in a small backyard and all of the guests helped to transform the ceremony site into the reception site.  I loved the bouquets that Lian made with cabbage and flowers.  I loved the boutonnieres that the bride and groom made for the groomsmen, carefully selecting the color of the bird to match the personality of the guys.  I loved the bride’s head piece that she found in her grandmothers chest… the same one her grandmother wore when she was married so many years ago.  I love that the tree in the backyard was the focal point for the whole wedding… from the invitations to Lian’s Dad’s talk during the ceremony.  I loved that they served pizza and salad at their reception!  I loved the white wedding cake with the hidden turquoise and purple cake center that was lovingly made by the brides cousin.  Seriously, I can go on and on.

But let’s be honest, more than anything I love Brynnen and Lian.  I loved when I heard that they were dating.  I was heart broken when I learned they broke up for a short time.  When I got the news they were back together again my heart leaped with joy.  See, they just make sense together.  Their quirky personalities, their laughter and joy are only magnified when in each others company.

I am so thankful to know them and to have had this amazing opportunity to capture their love, their uniqueness, and their amazing families.  Congratulations Brynnen and Lian!  I know I’ve missed SO many details about your wedding in this blog post so if you want to share anything with me and the readers, please do. 🙂

Enjoy…

Ryan & Tricia’s Ranch Wedding | Part 5 | Madera, CA

Alright, here’s the final entry… are you sad? I kind of am too.  But we’ll finish it off with a bang!  Or how about some sparklers?! Alright, here’s the final entry… are you sad? I kind of am too.  But we’ll finish it off with a bang!  Or how about some sparklers?!

First, since Ryan is a milkman it only made sense for the happy couple to serve milk and cupcakes for dessert.  The cupcakes were absolutely delicious!  I seriously still think about them and how cute/yummy they were.  No kidding, the cupcake table got cleared off fairly quickly!

The rest of the night was filled with dancing… deep in the Madera countryside it can get pitch black!  Lights were strung throughout the large tree which created this wonderful ambiance where the guests ended up mingling (that is, if they weren’t getting down on the dance floor).  It was really beautiful.  Thoughtfully, a huge light was placed out on the road for everyone to be able to see where their cars were but with that light the cornfields glowed and made the surroundings that much more beautiful.

I have no doubt that everyone had so much fun at this wedding!  The DJ, the dancing, the food, the cupcakes, the sparkler exit, and the couple were absolutely amazing.  I’m so thankful to have been able to be apart of this wedding.

Ryan & Tricia, I wish you the best and I look forward to seeing how the Lord uses you two.  Blessings and congratulations!

Details, details, details… And of course a little ceremony thrown into the mix.

I am so excited for this post.  I LOVED what Tricia did for her reception.  Who knows how many hours she spent rummaging through second hand stores to find the many different, lovely patterned plates for her guests to dine from.  Not only did she purchase each plate but she made every single napkin.  For the centerpieces she ran a piece of burlap down the length of the table and had bright yellow daisies in an assortment of creamy white vases as well as vases that she covered with burlap and lace.  It was absolute perfection.

Let me back up just a little… when you walked down the long driveway you could see the ceremony site on the left, the house straight ahead, and the reception site to your right.  In front of the house Tricia and her dad painted on old dresser drawers directions to every single place one could desire to go out in the country (ie, ceremony site, reception site, bathroom, etc). 🙂  It was absolutely charming and gave such a lovely, vintage touch to the wedding.

Ryan and Tricia made fans for the guests to use during the ceremony which had the events of the day mapped out as well as all of the information for the ceremony.  They were darling!

There were so many details that I can’t even cover all of them.  From the lights in the trees to the handmade fabric initials hanging on the tree over the head table, everything was beautiful and perfect.  It all came together seamlessly and the theme was apparent from beginning to end.

Love the burlap and lace with a splash of yellow.  Tricia, you are absolutely brilliant!

Here we go for the third entry of the Iest series… I wanted to throw as many wedding party photos as I could at you. I LOVE the outfits Ryan & Tricia selected for their bridal party. If I were one of the girls, hands down I’d wear that dress again (okay, that is if I looked as good as these girls did in those dresses I would!). And the guys all casual with sleeves rolled up yet awesome wearing those wonderful hats, they might win for coolest groomsmen attire I’ve seen (and I’ve seen some pretty amazing attire lately!). I love the lace of Tricia’s dress. The pinstripe suit that Ryan wore was phenomenal. Everything that you get to see in this entry I loved. That’s probably why there are so many pictures in this series. 🙂

Enjoy my friends…

Fun, easy going, always doting after the bride, they were perfect and so great to photograph. The guys were hilarious and made my job easy. One of my favorite images from the day (and I have a lot of favorites) is the last shot in this little blog post of them holding corn as a bouquet. Cheesy but great… (okay, it’s probably just how I write it that makes it sound so cheesy… whatever!)

Anyway, I love the colors, the feel, the style of this wedding! Can I get an amen? 🙂 Stay tuned, there is more to come. Until then, enjoy.

Once upon a time the socialite and the milkman fell in love.  Soon after they tied the knot.  Here is a glimpse into their very special day…

Alright, let me be a little more wordy.  Ryan is the milkman (seriously, he works on a dairy with… get this… REAL cows!) and Tricia is the socialite (truly, this girl is not shy in the very least!).  They might have one of the coolest stories around.  From one seeing the other on a social networking site, to finally meeting face to face (a few times without one really remembering any of the meetings) and finally, with God’s perfect timing, they met again at a Bible study and the rest is history.  Too vague?  Oh well, I’ll have to get permission from the bride and groom to be able to go in-depth… Wait, even better I’ll see if they’ll want to be guest bloggers and tell their own story!  How great would that be? 🙂

There is so much goodness in this wedding that I’ve decided to break it down into a few small posts… believe me, the wait is worth it!  For this first draft we have a few small details of their wedding day along with the bride and groom getting ready.  Mind you, in this series they had not laid eyes on one another.  That happened at the very emotional, fantastically perfect ceremony (stay tuned, the ceremony blog post shall come soon!).

Anyhow, here’s the beginning of the Iest wedding held in the far off country area of Madera, CA.

This past June I had the opportunity to shoot two weddings in Chicago.  They were both incredible!  Today, one of those weddings has been fully featured on Style Unveiled!  Kevin and Susan got to fully be apart of this article and they wrote straight from their hearts.  What an incredible couple.  I am so thankful to know them, to have spent their wedding day with them, and to continue a friendship with them.  I am blessed.  It would be pretty amazing if you left a comment on Style Unveiled’s blog… not only for me but also to bless the Fiske’s and Heather at Style Unveiled.
