Carter Preschool Graduation Picture | Reedley, CA

April 27th, 2010

I love this kid. He’s always so interesting and full of energy. A true fireball. In fact, you would probably assume such a thing if you saw his hair (um… I do have color images but for whatever reason I’m choosing not to post them on here… ah well). It’s screaming red! So during the […]

I love this kid. He’s always so interesting and full of energy. A true fireball. In fact, you would probably assume such a thing if you saw his hair (um… I do have color images but for whatever reason I’m choosing not to post them on here… ah well). It’s screaming red! So during the shoot he would rip one, laugh, and blame me while my parents are eating lunch right behind us! What a punk. 🙂 Then he would pull the typical Carter move, turn around, bend over, and laughing say, “take a picture of my butt.” Oh you sweet four year old. You make me laugh.

Dude, congratulations on making it out of preschool and heading to Kindergarten!

In the garage | Reedley, CA

Antiques fascinate me. Who did they belong to? How did they use them? How much did they buy it for? Has it always been in my family? Trust me, I’ve got loads of questions. The other weekend my sister and I rummaged around my grandparents shed. Angie got some information from grandpa about some of the treasures we found. They may not be treasures to you, but they’re certainly treasures to us. For instance, there was a simple piece of wood hammered together forming a ‘t’ shape. Grandma told us that our Great Grandfather would sit on this stool every morning to milk the cow. Had we not known that, I’m certain at some point it would have become just another log on the fire.

Then there were the tools. Who knew that these specific tools were tailor made for a Model T. You couldn’t work on the car without them. And our family still has them?! But where’s the car?!!! I guess the tools lasted but the car didn’t. Ahh well, so is life. 🙂

Unique = The Martin Family This shoot was so great.  Sure there was mild complaining from the kids about posing preppy but when everyone came out in their punk outfits, it was smooth sailing!  Not once did I have to tell them what to do, I just captured them being a family, hanging out, truly […]

Unique = The Martin Family

This shoot was so great.  Sure there was mild complaining from the kids about posing preppy but when everyone came out in their punk outfits, it was smooth sailing!  Not once did I have to tell them what to do, I just captured them being a family, hanging out, truly being themselves.  Sure, mom and dad don’t normally dress like this but they embraced it and rocked the look!  I loved every moment.

Enjoy!

The Blied & Milton Family Portrait | Reedley, CA

April 18th, 2010

Yesterday almost ALL of the Blied & Milton family came together for a family pics.  This is a huge accomplishment!  The last time they were all together was two years ago (maybe three, don’t quote me on that) for one of the siblings’ weddings.  They all drove back home to Reedley with their families to […]

Yesterday almost ALL of the Blied & Milton family came together for a family pics.  This is a huge accomplishment!  The last time they were all together was two years ago (maybe three, don’t quote me on that) for one of the siblings’ weddings.  They all drove back home to Reedley with their families to celebrate their parents, Jim & Pam, birthdays.  It was supposed to be a surprise but due to the fact that Pam was planning to go out of town the kids that live nearby showed up a little over a week ago and surprised them by announcing the plans.

It was absolutely wonderful shooting this family.  They all are truly amazing and are a blessing in my life.  After the shoot they invited my sister and I to join them for dinner.  It was such a fun time chatting and laughing.  The best moment of all was when the food came out and all of a sudden you no longer had to yell to communicate.  It was very obvious the kids got their food. 🙂

Anyhow, here are some favorite images of mine from yesterday.  Blieds & Miltons, you guys are amazing.  Thank you for having me (and my sister) be apart of your lives.  You certainly have blessed us and I hope that in turn we can bless you.

Enjoy

Easter weekend I had the opportunity to head down south for a fashion shoot. I wasn’t really sure what to expect because I had never actually met the designer or seen her work until the moment I arrived at her families home on Friday afternoon. I was terribly nervous during my three hour drive south. All these silly scenarios rushed through my head (wouldn’t you have the same issue?). Looking back now, there was no reason to be nervous. Julie, her model Nicole, the dresses, and Julie’s family were absolutely wonderful! We all got along very well and it was easy to come in, help out with this or that, make some coffee on the espresso machine, shoot some fun fashion on location, and enjoy great conversation and good laughter throughout the day.

Anyways, I loved every moment and am thrilled with how the images turned out. I’ve been editing them and wanted to share a few. There is one more dress in this collection (which is actually my absolute favorite collection) but I haven’t gotten to edit the last image just yet. So, here is your little taste of the designs of Julie Martin-Beijer.

Enjoy.

Jason & Heidi’s Wedding Slideshow | Fresno, CA

Some things I loved about this wedding… first and foremost the people. Seriously, both families were absolutely incredible and super easy to work with. And the wedding party! Oh my! Some things I loved about this wedding… first and foremost the people. Seriously, both families were absolutely incredible and super easy to work with. And the wedding party! Oh my! I’ve never had a wedding party like that who so easily chatted and laughed with each other. They were so amazing.

I loved the vision of the day. The colors were black, brown, and this beautiful green. The ladies wore these wonderful black dresses that were so classy and they’ll easily be able to wear them again! There were bowls of green apples as the centerpieces which gave a fresh feeling to the whole reception. The details were there and perfect.

Lastly, I loved the cookies. Yes, the cookies. There was not a cake but the grooms sister is in culinary school and she made some absolutely delicious cookies. There were a few kinds there but my favorite ones were the cutout cookies in the shape of the couples initials… JNH (Jason | Nenadov | Heidi). Then she delicately piped an outline around every cookie. Wow, the time and detail that went into these delicious things was outstanding!
