Are you sitting down?  Are you ready?

Let me start from the beginning and tell you how this all came about.   I wrote every name of the people who left comments on my blog onto a sheet of paper.  I then cut the paper into little segments and put them into this really pretty antique green candy dish (you can imagine it right?) and from there I mixed the papers over and over again.  I turned my head, dug around some more, and drew a name.  Then I smiled.  And now I’m writing this.

Wondering who’s name was drawn?  Well this person doesn’t live in California.  And this person is not a boy.  She is a mother, a blogger, and a fantastic lunch maker.  MELISSA SHARP, YOU WON!!!!

Melissa, I will e-mail you this afternoon… first though, I’ve gotta eat some lunch.

You all know I’m a photographer right? I work from my Residential Gallery day in and day out. After a few months of working by myself I’ve realized how badly I need to mingle with people. See, my sister is a therapist so she talks to people all day long. I, on the other hand, don’t talk to anybody all day long and when Angie comes home, I just want to chit chat and hangout whereas she just wants to come home, relax, and not talk. Can you see how that’s not working out so nicely for either of us?

Finally I decided to go ahead and pick up a part time job. Save Mart Supermarkets hired me at the end of January and I’ve been bagging groceries for approximately 20 hours a week. Can I tell you how great it is?! Seriously, no stress… I go in, do my job, chat with customers, walk around and get some exercise, then come home and do my real work. It’s been pretty amazing. Plus, I get a little paycheck at the end of each week. No complaints here!

Well yesterday while I was working one of the grocery clerks looks at me and she asks, “Are you at least 21?” Shocked and thinking she was joking I responded with a laugh, “I’m 31.” She couldn’t believe it… really, I couldn’t believe it either. Seriously? Do I still look that young (don’t answer that).

Goodness, I was sad that I didn’t get carded at WPPI in Vegas for the Pictage party. Ha! Thank you Martha! You made my day.

I’m so thankful for new, cool things to add to my business.  Ready to view your album?  Have any desire to view an album from your wedding, senior pictures, or family setting?  Well, now it’s possible to do that simply and beautifully.  Thanks Album Exposure for making the proofing system all that more easy!

Gosh, I’ve been learning so much and loving every moment of it… well, except for this killer headache that I’ve gotten because I’m too tired. Sleep will happen later though. In the meantime I just wanted to share my excitement for a second. Jennifer Eileen is in the midst of a face lift and with that comes all sorts of little fun bonuses for my current clients, previous clients, and future clients/friends. I really do love my job and I want to make it the best that I can possibly make it! Thank you all for standing by me, loving me, supporting me, and pushing me (for those of you who push). Let’s look forward to great things! Golly, I can’t wait to get home and get to work.
