Her mom and I would put her in one spot and ask her to stand there and she totally did. Then I’d ask her to stop smiling and she would. She was perfect and her pictures are darling! Here are a few from our shoot on Friday… Enjoy…

Jason & Heidi got hitched today!  Let me share with you how perfect they are with this one simple fact… this morning they both woke up early, met up, and while Heidi ran, Jason rode his bike alongside her and would yell out to passersby that they were getting married!  So perfect, so joyous, so […]

I just wanted to share a small handful of images from the Photo Booth that we had set up.  What a great time… can’t you tell? 🙂

Are you sitting down?  Are you ready?

Let me start from the beginning and tell you how this all came about. 🙂  I wrote every name of the people who left comments on my blog onto a sheet of paper.  I then cut the paper into little segments and put them into this really pretty antique green candy dish (you can imagine it right?) and from there I mixed the papers over and over again.  I turned my head, dug around some more, and drew a name.  Then I smiled.  And now I’m writing this.

Wondering who’s name was drawn?  Well this person doesn’t live in California.  And this person is not a boy.  She is a mother, a blogger, and a fantastic lunch maker.  MELISSA SHARP, YOU WON!!!!

Melissa, I will e-mail you this afternoon… first though, I’ve gotta eat some lunch. 🙂

Cadbury Mini Eggs | Something I love

March 22nd, 2010

The headline says it all… I love them.  I love Cadbury Mini Eggs.  So far this year I’ve bought two bags.  And both of those bags didn’t even last 24 hours.  That’s probably why I’ve only purchased two. Every time I work at Save Mart I walk by the Cadbury Mini Eggs, look at the […]

Every time I work at Save Mart I walk by the Cadbury Mini Eggs, look at the price (hoping against all hope that they’re somehow on sale BEFORE Easter), and think if Dave Ramsey would say it’s okay for me to purchase a bag or if the Couch to 5K plan (which I’ve sadly neglected for far too long) would agree with my eating yet another bag.  These little hard shelled chocolate eggs are just simply delicious.  Thankfully, they’re only around during the Spring time every year.  Hey, maybe if they were around all year long I wouldn’t crave them so much!  I might just have to write to Cadbury and suggest this. 🙂

Shawn Blied’s Portrait | Reedley, CA

Finally!  The last of the Blied/Milton Family pictures are done.  Shawn was the last of the seven that I had on my list to capture and thankfully we squeezed him in to a busy schedule.  We took his pictures at The Cornerstone Church in Reedley today. On a completely different note, the reason for Shawn Shawn (as we called him in High School) being in town was because his step Grandmother passed away earlier this week.  I know it’s hitting the family fairly hard losing their loved one.  From what I can tell, she was a classy fireball who left her mark on each life she came across.  Praise God she loved Him, relied on Him, and had a personal relationship with Him.  It’s always a blessing to have someone like that in your life.

Anyhow… here’s Shawn Shawn Blied…

I love Contests | Reedley, CA

For whatever reason I’ve always been competitive. I guess I was born with it because I have no idea how else it came about… well, my mom is competitive as well, and my dad has a bit of a competitive drive in him. Unlike them though, I can be a sore loser. I get my […]

For whatever reason I’ve always been competitive. I guess I was born with it because I have no idea how else it came about… well, my mom is competitive as well, and my dad has a bit of a competitive drive in him. Unlike them though, I can be a sore loser. I get my heart set on winning and every time I don’t win I am bummed!

I was convinced, last year, that I would win the HGTV Dream Home Giveaway. Seriously… I was 100% convinced. While visiting my boyfriend in Louisiana we watched the big reveal of the winner and I had my phone right next to me knowing that they would call. When they showed the prize patrol lady standing outside in Florida I was CRUSHED! Literally, I began to cry.

That’s just my competitive spirit.

So here’s the point: I love contests, I love competing, I love good clean fun. Because of these factors Jennifer Eileen Photography is going to start having some more contests.

The first contest starts now and ends on Monday the 22nd
The prize is a $25 gift card to Starbucks
How you enter is simply by leaving a comment anywhere on my blog

I don’t care if you’re my sister, a stranger, my best friend, or an old acquaintance, I just want you to enter, believe your name will be drawn, and have some fun! I know, I know, leaving comments is the most fun thing a person can do. I get it, I do it all the time, and I’m thrilled with writing silly things on peoples blogs. Alright, stop reading and start commenting. 🙂 Good luck!

You all know I’m a photographer right? I work from my Residential Gallery day in and day out. After a few months of working by myself I’ve realized how badly I need to mingle with people. See, my sister is a therapist so she talks to people all day long. I, on the other hand, don’t talk to anybody all day long and when Angie comes home, I just want to chit chat and hangout whereas she just wants to come home, relax, and not talk. Can you see how that’s not working out so nicely for either of us?

Finally I decided to go ahead and pick up a part time job. Save Mart Supermarkets hired me at the end of January and I’ve been bagging groceries for approximately 20 hours a week. Can I tell you how great it is?! Seriously, no stress… I go in, do my job, chat with customers, walk around and get some exercise, then come home and do my real work. It’s been pretty amazing. Plus, I get a little paycheck at the end of each week. No complaints here!

Well yesterday while I was working one of the grocery clerks looks at me and she asks, “Are you at least 21?” Shocked and thinking she was joking I responded with a laugh, “I’m 31.” She couldn’t believe it… really, I couldn’t believe it either. Seriously? Do I still look that young (don’t answer that).

Goodness, I was sad that I didn’t get carded at WPPI in Vegas for the Pictage party. Ha! Thank you Martha! You made my day.

Friends of mine who now live in Guatemala were in Reedley for a short two week stay. I’ve been gone for a large chunk of their visit but I was thrilled to take Josiah’s pictures this morning. He’s already 7 months old (I think) and last week was my first time meeting him. Josiah is for sure a smiler and a little flirt. He loves the ladies. At the end of the shoot we had Gracie, his older sister, jump in so I could capture the two of them together. That was rather unsuccessful because all she wanted to do was swing on the swing set! Who could blame her really?

We took these images at Citizen’s Park to match the shoot that we did right before the Harder’s moved to Guatemala last summer when Renee was super pregnant with this little man. Now they’ll be able to have image hanging in their home that all have the same look, feel, and colors.

Enjoy…

A change will do me good | WPPI Las Vegas 2010

March 9th, 2010

Gosh, I’ve been learning so much and loving every moment of it… well, except for this killer headache that I’ve gotten because I’m too tired. Sleep will happen later though. In the meantime I just wanted to share my excitement for a second. Jennifer Eileen is in the midst of a face lift and with […]

In the meantime I just wanted to share my excitement for a second. Jennifer Eileen is in the midst of a face lift and with that comes all sorts of little fun bonuses for my current clients, previous clients, and future clients/friends. I really do love my job and I want to make it the best that I can possibly make it! Thank you all for standing by me, loving me, supporting me, and pushing me (for those of you who push). Let’s look forward to great things! Golly, I can’t wait to get home and get to work. 🙂

Anyway, here are her babes, my niece and nephew if you will. There are many more pictures but I thought I’d share a few before I really get fully started on the editing.

Enjoy.
